The European stock markets close decreasing, awaiting new indications on future monetary policies of central banks. Investors remain in suspense after the latest macroeconomic data and awaiting inflation data, crucial for the ECB’s upcoming decisions.

Piazza Affari ends the day with a decline: the Ftse Mib index drops by 0.38%, stopping at 33,707 points.

The financial markets of Frankfurt (-0.8%), Paris (-0.58%), London (-0.41%) and Madrid (-0.48%) follow the same negative trend.

On Piazza Affari, Leonardo recorded a loss of 2.9%, affected by the difficulties of the European defense and aeronautical sector, aggravated by the collapse of Airbus in Paris (-9%), which reduced its growth forecasts.

The spread between BTPs and German Bunds closed stable at 151 points, with the yield on the Italian ten-year bond at 3.92%.

Tim also recorded a significant loss of 2.6% in view of the conclusion of the agreement with KKR for the sale of its network, together with Diasorin (-2.2%) and Pirelli (-1.9%). Banks see a decline after the gains of the previous session, with significant selling on Popolare di Sondrio (-1.8%), Mps (-1.7%), Unicredit (-1.2%), Intesa and Bper (- 0.4%).

A better day for the luxury sector, with Moncler and Cucinelli gaining 0.5% and 0.4% respectively.

The energy sector benefits from the increase in oil prices: Saipem advances by 3.6% and Eni by 0.8%, while Tenaris records a slight decline of 0.6%.

Utilities show mixed results with A2a and Enel up 0.6% and 0.5% respectively, while Hera loses 0.3%. Iren gains 1% after the approval of the new plan and the decision to fire the former CEO Paolo Signorini.

In the Milanese mid-cap segment, Philogen stands out with a +2.01%. Anima Holding was also positive with +0.56%.

The sales hit Fincantieri hard, which closed at -9.34%, and De’ Longhi, which fell by 4.63%.

Finally, Industrie De Nora and Sesa close with decreases of 3.29% and 2.84% respectively.

Juventus instead leaves 0.45% on the ground.
