Work as waiter is often very challenging, especially when dealing with clients rude who have no respect for those who are doing their job. Maintaining a professional attitude, remaining calm and not responding to insults, mistreatment and provocations can become particularly difficult and there are those who, once they have reached and exceeded the limit, give in to some spite. Or, perhaps, a real one vendetta.

This is confirmed by a video published on TikTok by a user, a waiter, who decided to add to the I count a “surcharge” due to the attitude of the people sitting at a particular table: he made them pay… in every sense.

Revenge on the account

The short clip posted by @tablesharks on TikTok shows a waiter at the restaurant register adding a surcharge of $52.99 to the table’s bill. The motivation? “They behaved badly,” as the man on the screen clearly writes. The reason is clearly expressed on the video: «Point of view: The people at the table you are serving think it is okay to treat you badly».

Finally, in the caption, he clarifies that this type of attitude affects the entire category of waiters: “If you vent on us, we vent on your pockets.” The comments on the clip confirm the frequency of similar situations, and someone adds other methods to get revenge: «I always put drinks as “water” on the receipt, but if they treat me badly I change the category. It doesn’t increase the total much, but it makes me feel better”, “Sometimes I don’t charge them for additional sauces, unless they are very rude”.

Finally, several people point out that we should always be kind towards waiters, since they are not servants. These “revenges”, then, should make customers understand that it would be better for them to be polite: “That’s why I’m always super nice and sweet with all the workers… you never know!”.
