THE FINAL STRIKE – The Geneva Motor Show, or rather the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS), it will not happen: and not only next year but, in all probability, we will never see again the motoring event on the shores of Lake Geneva. The decision was made by the Board of the Comité permanent du Salon international de l’Automobile Foundation after taking over the industry uncertainties automotive and always less attractive carried out by the main European shows: “The disinterest shown by manufacturers at the Geneva Motor Show in a difficult industrial context, the competition of the Paris and Monaco salons favored by the national industry, as well as the level of investments necessary to maintain this salon, give the final blow for a future edition,” said Alexandre de Senarclens, president of the Foundation organizing the event.

FAILURE TO RELAUNCH – Therefore the service was not served2024 edition (to which they refer the photos), which was supposed to be the relaunch after four years of absence due to the pandemic. On the contrary they were few car manufacturers participants, with most of the big manufacturers preferring to snub the event. Failing to achieve the statutory purpose, the Council will formally ask the cantonal foundation supervisory authority for authorization to dissolve the Foundationas the conditions for the success of future editions are lacking.

GENEVA IN QATAR – The Geneva Motor Show it will not die completely, but will definitely move in Qatarwhere it had already been hosted in October 2023. The new GIMS will take place in November 2025in Doha.
