Car incentives: the Ecobonus decree does not exist, what is happening

The only certainty is uncertainty. And the answers regress to the state of questions. The Prime Ministerial Decree (Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers) with which they are, or rather would be, activated the new purchasing incentives of new cars with reduced CO2 emissions, including through the scrapping of more polluting vehicles, has not yet been published in the Official Journal. Mandatory step for any regulatory measure to come into force. It seemed like a done deal, all the bureaucratic steps had been completed, in the current week every day seemed like the right one. Yet everything is still at a standstill. Meanwhile, nervousness among professionals is increasing, not to mention those who are waiting to buy a car and need this government help to make ends meet. The voices become insistent and energetic. Like the appeal jointly released on May 21st by Federauto and Unrae, the associations that bring together car dealers and foreign manufacturers respectively.

car incentives, the appeal of federauto and unrae

This is the note released on May 21st by Unrae and Federauto: “The prolonged wait for the publication of the Decree in the Official Journal is causing serious consequences for the entire automotive supply chain, and the delays accumulated in the almost six months that have passed since the announcement of the remodulation of the non-incentives they are more justifiable. The criticality of the situation is accentuated by the fact that on February 1st, almost four months ago now, the new incentive scheme was officially presented during the Automotive Roundtable at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, with a wealth of details on the contributions units, and that the incentives, which have not yet come into force, will cease to be operational at the end of the year. It is necessary to restore the normal operations of companies that revolve around the automotive sector as soon as possible. Therefore, we urgently ask that the Prime Ministerial Decree be published in the Official Journal by the end of this week. Likewise, we hope that, in the future, the measures to support the sector are structural and do not have such reductive horizons as in the case in question”.
