DR Group: partnership with Dongfeng and 3 Tiger news

An SUV, a minivan and a multispace with the revived British brand Tiger imprinted on the hood, but with the Italian soul of DR Automobiles Group and the mechanics daughter of Chinese industry. Three new vehicles as the first fruit of the partnerships announced between DR Automobiles Group and Dongfeng, the Wuhan giant founded in 1969, considered one of the three most important industries in the sector in China. This is the fourth strategic alliance for the DR Group, after those stipulated with other large manufacturers such as Chery, Jac and Baic. The partnership with DR involves the development of three new cars positioned in as many segments, to be marketed throughout Europe by the Molise group according to the model already in place for pre-existing collaborations.

Using Chinese platforms, Italian engineers will develop the models based on the stylistic but above all regulatory needs of the old continent. The three new vehicles are produced in China, and then completed in the Macchia d’Isernia plant in Molise. Finally, they will be marketed under the Tiger brand through the Italian and European sales network of DR Automobiles Groupe. The first is a C-segment SUV 4.5 meters long and powered by a 177 HP 1.5 turbo petrol engine, combined with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The Tiger SUV it will be offered at 27,900 euros, with full optional extras as standard. The development of DR’s Termohybrid petrol/LPG technology is envisaged for this model. The second vehicle is a minivan of 4.85 metres, powered by a 197 HP 1.5 turbo and offered at the price of 27,900 euros. This will also be available in the Thermohybrid version. The dimensions of the third Tiger vehicle, a seven-seater multispace vehicle with hybrid drive, rise to 5.2 metres. The three new models that will be launched in Italy and the rest of Europe in the second half of 2024.
