Xiaomi SU7 officially debuts in China. Here’s how much it costs

Xiaomi officially debuted the SU7, its first electric car, on the Chinese market. After presenting it towards the end of last year, the Chinese company has finally revealed further details and above all the prices. The new model will be marketed in SU7, SU7 Pro and SU7 Max versions.

To bring its electric sedan to the market, 576 prototypes were built which have covered a total of over 5.4 million km.

DIMENSIONS AND INTERIORS

All variants are essentially identical in terms of design. Xiaomi SU7 measures 4,997mm long x 1,963mm wide x 1,455mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,000mm. The SU7 Max, the most powerful one, is 15 mm lower. The main differences are limited to the powertrain, i.e. the motors and the battery. SU7 is marketed in 9 colors. As standard, the car has 19-inch wheels but 20 and 21-inch wheels are available as options.

The Chinese company paid a lot of attention to the development of aerodynamics. The result is a cx of 0.195. As for the interior, as we have already seen, the look is minimalist and there is a lot of technology. Xiaomi SU7 can count on a large 16.1 inch central touch display with 3K resolution for the infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay (wireless). In front of the steering wheel, we find the digital instrumentation screen. There is also a 56-inch Head-Up Display which also shows navigation information. The cockpit is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processor. 7.1-inch displays are available for the rear passengers.

ENGINES AND AUTONOMY

Compared to what the Chinese company had initially said, there are news regarding the technical specifications. As mentioned at the beginning, the electric sedan is offered in the SU7, SU7 Pro and SU7 Max versions.

In detail, Xiaomi SU7 has a single electric motor and rear-wheel drive. 400V architecture, 220 kW of power400 Nm of torque and 73.6 kWh battery with BYD LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells. Maximum speed of 210 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.28 seconds and autonomy of 700 km but according to the Chinese CLTC cycle.

We have then Xiaomi SU7 Pro which differs due to the presence of Shenxing battery from CATL with a capacity of 94.3 kWh. The architecture is 800V. 830km range (CLTC) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.

At the top of the range we find Xiaomi SU7 Max which offers a dual engine and all-wheel drive. They are available 495 kW and 838 Nm of torque. Maximum speed of 265 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds. To feed everything one Qilin battery from CATL with a capacity of 101 kWh. Autonomy of 800 km (CLTC)while the architecture is always 800 V.

As for charging, we know that models with 400V architecture will be able to recover 315 km of autonomy (CLTC) in 15 minutes. In the same time frame, models with 800V architecture will be able to recover 510 km (CLTC). Xiaomi also makes it known that it is creating its own charging network with 600 kW columns.

Speaking of driving assistance systems, Xiaomi SU7 can count on Xiaomi Pilot Pro based on the NVIDIA Orin chip. Similar to Tesla, it uses a “pure vision” system. The SU7 Pro and Max models will, however, have the platform Xiaomi Pilot Max which uses two NVIDIA Orin chips and the LiDAR sensor.

How much does it cost Xiaomi SU7 in China? Prices start from 215,900 yuan which at the exchange rate is around 27,600 euros.

  • Xiaomi SU7: 215,900 – approximately 27,600 euros
  • Xiaomi SU7 Pro: 245,900 yuan – approximately 31,500 euros
  • Xiaomi SU7 Max: 299,900 yuan – approximately 38,400 euros

Deliveries of the SU7 and SU7 Max variants will begin at the end of April and that of the SU7 Pro variant at the end of May. Xiaomi has also introduced a special Founders Edition for the SU7 and SU7 Max versions which is characterized by richer standard equipment. Prices do not change. A total of 5,000 units will be made with deliveries starting as early as April 3rd.
