Arezzo, 24 June 2024 – In the society of lack of love, narcissism and unlimited selfish desires, in which “Io loves Io” and only technique and the market count, all that remains is to start again from love, beyond oneself. After having faced desperation by taking it as a starting point rather than a point of arrival, after having unmasked the pall that hangs over our society, suffocates freedom, dignity and intelligence and makes us dissatisfied, Marcello Veneziani arrives at the most difficult challenge: to indicate a way out of loneliness and nihilism, which allows us to rediscover the joy of living and being in the world, in harmony with the universe and our soul. He does it with his latest book, “Necessary love” (Marsilio), which the Author will present next July 2nd in Arezzo as a guest of Zenzero OFF: vital and evocative pages, in which experiences, stories and reflections on love for life, for others, for family, for homeland, for the world, for destiny and for truth, the only way to save us, are intertwined from the self and the threat of nothingness. An essay on love which, as the Author himself explains, “is anything but a private escape, a retreat into intimacy or a late conversion to saccharine romanticism. Because love is understood as the force that moves the world, the primary energy that animates life, supports bonds and extends us outside of ourselves, beyond ourselves.”
The meeting with Marcello Veneziani will be held on Tuesday 2 July at 6.30 pm in Piazza San Domenico, an appointment included in the program of the “Certe notti a San Domenico” event, organized by Casa Thevenin with the patronage of the Municipality of Arezzo. Partner of the event is the Edison by Biblion bookstore.
