It is the last day of the second edition of Mestre Book Fest, the literary festival promoted and organized by the Municipality of Venice and Confcommercio which in these two weeks has attracted thousands of readers and enthusiasts.
Three events are scheduled for Sunday 16 June: lunch with the author will see the participation of Fabiola Di Sotto at the All’ombra del Gabbiano restaurant at 12.30 (via Caneve 2). Widely followed on Instagram with the profile @fabiolavegmamy, with over half a million followers, Fabiola, with her recipes, is now a point of reference for those who have chosen to become vegan and for those who, while remaining omnivorous, wish to introduce more vegetables into their diet and legumes. Her first, delicious book is entitled “Frightening vegetable cuisine. Recipes, techniques and preparations for everyone” (Vallardi): an example of how a plant-based diet can guarantee a healthy, complete, tasty and varied diet. The event is sold out.
Male sexual health, often based on stereotypes and legends rather than on correct information, will be at the center of the meeting at 6pm at the M9 cloister: Diego Passoni, leading voice of Radio Deejay, and the urologist Nicola Macchione will talk about it in the book “Penis, masculine plural” (Fabbri publishers). The authors of the podcast “Our cocks – things between men” will also talk about how urgent it is to undermine a toxic masculinity made of silence, shame, physical strength and unattainable standards.
At 9pm the grand finale with the writer Mauro Corona in Piazza Ferretto: writer, mountaineer and regular guest of the program “È semper Carta Bianca” on Rete Quattro, will be presenting the latest book “Le swings”. The old man remembers and talks about the world as it was before the blind greed of man destroyed it, and together he talks about his life, his childhood and early adolescence, the carefreeness of three brothers that alternates with the incomprehensible violence of family life , and which must be measured with the torment of a community, that of Erto, overwhelmed by pain.
