IVREA. It is called The new driving force, and it is a handy book fresh off the press on the history of the Aeg cooperative, founded in 1901, in the new millennium. It was written by Marco Peroni and Giovanni Digiacomo, with the collaboration of Valerio Giacoletto Papas and Giorgio Seita.

The book, retracing the history of the last twenty years of the cooperative, highlights the dialectic of different positions on the role of the cooperative, interpreted by the two different administrations that succeeded the government of Aeg. The watershed was 2014. A year marked by the financial difficulties generated for the cooperative by the failure to collect a huge debt from a large customer, Tradecom. That crisis determined the change of management which was not without tensions which also had repercussions on the territory. The objective of the book, therefore, is to convey to members information on the recent history of the cooperative and to provoke some further reflection on the role that Aeg can play in the future development of the Canavese area also in consideration of the fact that it is one of the subjects that can stimulate the sense of belonging to a community. Even the title of the book was not chosen by chance. Aeg coop was born from the need to give driving force to the Canavese area. Over 120 years have passed. And now? Now the driving force passes through the electrification of consumption, energy communities, the choices to revive a large (and the most iconic) of Olivetti’s factories through Icona. There, in the Salone dei Duemila, the members meet for the meetings, several companies have already established themselves, others will do so. There is culture and training.
