Over 30 events in a month, more than 70 guests including writers, journalists, historians and authors, initiatives for schools and a heterogeneous audience that enlivens the squares of the 2024 book capital city in the afternoon.

The events of “Taurianova Legge” continue, the literary event that is animating the city, Italian Book Capital 2024 with a rich program of over 40 events.

The latest meetings featured, among others, Michele Ainis, professor of public law institutions at the University of Teramo, who in dialogue with the journalist Giovanni Innamorati presented his “Capocracy” (La nave di Teseo, 2024) , a lucid and at times polemical essay, on the next political battleground that Italian parties are called to face in the immediate future: presidentialism.

Great participation for “Tutto d’un breath”, the musical show staged at the conclusion of the “Sipario sipario” project of the IF institute. Sofia Alessio–N. Contestabile, led by the director Emanuela Cannistrà, which involved around eighty children from the N. Contestabile lower secondary schools of Taurianova and San Martino.

A musical show directed by Prof. Stefania Sorace, coordinator of the project, in collaboration with Prof. Angela Greco, dedicated to the timeless value of books and reading, enriched by the performances of the choir directed by Prof. M. Josè Fava, the choreographies of Professor Fabiola Cininello and the orchestra directed by teachers Daniele Ciullo, Vincenzo Zindato, Salvatore Davide Schirripa and Vincenzo Modafferi.

“This show is the result of an interdisciplinary project – explained Professor Sorace –. A team effort carried out for ten years in our school to enhance the creativity of the children, thanks to which each of them has the opportunity to express themselves and offer his contribution based on his own passions and skills, from acting to dance, without neglecting music, one of our main subjects. A job that is certainly challenging, but which we carry forward with passion and enthusiasm thanks to support and encouragement of our head teacher.”

The project accompanied the young students in understanding contemporaneity through the symbolic reading of books that ranged between reality and fantasy, history and adventure. From deeper and more reflective moments such as the dedication to Giulia Cecchettin by her father, to send a clear message of condemnation of any form of violence, or the monologue on the Italian Constitution accompanied by the choir and orchestra, to other lighter and more entertaining moments , like the vernacular parody of the “Odyssey”, the show gave participants a unique evening of words, music and dance.
