At the center of the story, the unshakable love of a father for his only son passes through some of the darkest pages in the history of our country. On the occasion of the release of When you die, it remains with me (Bao), a book focused on the inability that male family figures have in communicating with each other, the illustrator and cartoonist Zerocalcare will meet readers on Monday 27th, talk with the publisher Michele Foschini and participate in the copy signing at Feltrinelli in Bari. 9, in the bookshop, passes will be distributed in a limited number to participate in the copy signing (one for each person, until stocks last) and each pass will indicate the time at which to show up. From 3pm to 6pm it will be possible to receive a single drawing of a Zerocalcare character each and in the case of multiple volumes, the others will be signed by the author (it is possible to bring the Zerocalcare books from home for the copy signing). But that’s not all: from 7.30pm to midnight Zerocalcare will sign exclusively with its iconic armadillo and also in this case access is possible to pass holders. The chat, scheduled from 6pm to 7pm, is free, subject to availability. A trip with his father to the village in the Dolomites where his father’s family comes from – as underlined in the book description – “would be the perfect excuse to better understand Parent 2, but Zerocalcare and his father are incapable of talking to each other about significant things” . This makes the trip difficult, when it is understood that their family is not looked upon favorably, indeed, by some it is downright hated, in the village. The roots of hatred «date back to before the Great War, and are intertwined with what happened in what Zerocalcare remembers as “Merman’s day”».
