“Look at this story! Stories for the screen”: the 4th edition kicks off at the next Turin International Book Fair | News


The Turin International Book Fair return to Lingotto Fiere from Thursday 9th to Monday 13th Mayunder the new management of Annalena Beninito welcome the community of readers of all ages who will meet Italian and international authors, and will have the opportunity to discover the works of the publishing houses present, tracing together new imaginary lives. This will be the theme of XXXVI edition of the Hall: Imaginary life, that surprising and mysterious territory that gives life to a wealth of infinite possibilities. The theme of the edition therefore becomes an archive, but also a possible map of the future. This edition will be a homage to the imaginary life that moves creative life, in all its forms.

As part of a program full of events and guests, the collaboration between Film Commission Turin Piedmont and Turin International Book Fair with “Look at this story! Stories for the screen”. After the growing success of previous editions, SalTo 2024 will officially open fourth call for applicationwith the purpose of select the best original stories to be adapted for the small and big screenactivating and encouraging the dialogue between the publishing world and the audiovisual industry. The initiative – aimed at publishing houses and literary agencies – will be presented to the public and professionals Sunday 12 Maywith the announcement of important news which will increase the value of the project.

On the occasion of the opening of the new edition of “Look at this story!” the author and screenwriter Antonella Lattanzi – who will be busy launching the film in mid-May A dark storybased on his publishing success of the same name – will hold a masterclass on film and television adaptationinvestigating transposition tools and mechanisms underlying the path that leads from the written page to the big (or small) screen.

Activities related to “Look at this story!” will also involve the Rights Centrethe space dedicated to buying and selling of editorial and audiovisual rightswhere the editors of the projects finalists of the last edition (7 novels chosen from 131 candidate titles) – presented for the first time in November 2023 in the framework of TFI Torino Film Industry – will have the opportunity to meet selected audiovisual decision makers and project development managers of the major production companies. The Rights Center will also host a panel with a focus on the publishing-cinema axis in the German market which, thanks to collaboration with Film Commission Turin Piedmontwill also see among the protagonists the producer of Viola Film Alessandro Passadore.
