Florence, 28 June 2024 – A morning among the masterpieces, in the company of the director Simone Greenfor the great director and producer George Lucas: “I’m a big fan of the Renaissance,” he then goes to discover the museum’s collection of works by cartoonists.

The legendary creator of Star Wars George Lucas visits the Uffizi Gallery for the first time. Lucas visited the Gallery this morning, together with his family: having arrived at the museum shortly before 11am, he spent around two hours among the Renaissance masterpieces, admiring, in the company of the director Simone Verde, in particular the rooms of Giotto, Botticelli , Michelangelo and Raphael, the Buontalenti Tribuna and also, with a small preview, the new spaces dedicated to Flemish painting, which will be inaugurated in the coming weeks.

“I’m a big fan of the Renaissance,” he said during the tour. At the end of the visit, the director and producer also wanted to stop at the Prints and Drawings Cabinet, to discover the collection of self-portraits of comics artists collected in recent years by the Uffizi Gallery.
