Reggiolo This afternoon (6pm) at the Fellini Auditorium, Silvano Vinceti, born in 1948, writer, essayist, politician and researcher, interviewed by Professor Franco Canova, presents the new book “The landscape of the Mona Lisa between mysteries and suggestions” (Armando Editore).

The painting of the Mona Lisa has fascinated humanity for centuries, shrouded in legends and mysteries. This publication presents three discoveries relating to the famous painting of the Mona Lisa and one concerning Leonardo’s biography.

The first three researches were carried out with an innovation of the traditional method of the art historian, limited to historical-documentary research and the pictorial and stylistic characteristics of the artist himself. The new method, which is translated in the book, for the first time made use of the use of drones, of digital techniques, of research with optical instruments of what cannot be seen with the naked eye.

The first two hypotheses relating to the landscape concern the discovery of the bridge that inspired Leonardo depicted on the right side of the landscape in the famous painting: the Roman bridge with four arches. The remains of this bridge, called Ponte Romito, were found in the municipality of Laterina in the province of Arezzo. The same applies to the depiction placed to the left of the portrait of the famous Lady where a sequence of Balze, or earth pyramids, physically present in Valdarno in the territorial area of the province of Arezzo shine. The discovery made last year was reported by the majority of the national and international mass media.

The third, again on the landscape, is the result of a long research concluded recently. Another enigma referring to the upper part of the landscape to the left of the Mona Lisa should have had a credible and well-founded answer. The same applies to the last journey made by Leonardo from Rome to France, precisely to Amboise where he died in 1519. The second part of the book is dedicated to these two enigmas which may have found a well-founded and documented solution.

Silvano Vinceti, a true Castellaranese, has produced several programs on various historical enigmas for Rai and Sky and is responsible for the creation of the scientific-documentary research, concluded with positive results, on the burial places and mortal remains of Matteo Maria Boiardo, Pico della Mirandola, Angelo Poliziano and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio.
