The trapper Mr Rizzus received a ten-month prison sentence and 3,000 euros in compensation for sexist insults and incitement to violence against Rebecca Staffelli. The radio speaker and TV face as well as daughter of Striscia la Notizia correspondent Valerio had sued Simone Rizzuto for defamation due to a song published in 2019 on Youtube. The song was called “Non ci sia” and one of the lines was «20,900 criminals, screw Staffelli’s daughter». After the publication and the related tag on Instagram Staffelli had read the insults of a boy who invited others to follow Mr Rizzus’ instructions. Simone P., from Tirano (Sondrio) is co-accused for defamation but without an abbreviated trial: the sentence will arrive in September.

The sentence

Rebecca Staffelli, the Quotidiano Nazionale reported today, was heard in court: «I didn’t know this song by Mr. Rizzus against women, cops and justice existed and I discovered it when I was tagged on Instagram by this stranger who sang the line about me complimenting Mr Rizzus. He triggered a lot of fear in me: he incited other people to hurt me and it was followed by insults and threats from others, in a chain, because unity is strength even for negative things.”

Rizzuto has a history of crimes against the person, robberies and assaults in addition to another conviction for defaming his ex. Yesterday he commented on the sentence on social media: I got a conviction. Now they will do a cumulation, I will surely have something to serve adding everything up. But that’s okay, I take my responsibilities. However, getting 10 months for a rhyme is absurd. In America they talk about murders”.
