Floral wallpaper is the protagonist of this apartment in Milan

There are those that focus everything on floral decorations, on bucolic and dreamy atmospheres. Those that show themselves through an overlap of bright colors and geometric patterns. Then there are those that are based on the paintings of great artists in the history of art and those that are so hyper realistic that they seem to transport you directly to other worlds. In the living room as in the bedroom, wallpaper would seem to be the must have that never goes out of fashion. Graphic, colourful, glossy, opaque or 3D – it doesn’t matter – the wallpaper trend is ready to transform the walls of your home into real furnishing elements. Just like the ones that come to life in this apartment of 150 m2 in the heart of the city of Milan: «here the rooms light up, like a virgin canvas, to be dressed with elegant nuances of colour, texture and floral motifs».

This apartment has been renamed with the name: Casa delle Peonie. The same flowers that come to life on the walls with the golden tones of Misha’s hand-painted motifs on a gold background. Colors and materials redesign the environments

Vintage, delicate, romantic and timeless. The floral wallpaper transforms this house into “an authentic homage to Art Nouveau”. The golden tones of the hand-painted motifs on silk blend harmoniously here with the rich burgundies present in the kitchen, the golden accents that characterize the mirrors on the walls and the brass suspensions positioned in the dining room. The goal of Marina Del Monaco And Paola Lorenzonico-founder of Studio DelMonacoLorenzoni, was that of transform a simple apartment with a neutral identity through the use of color and material, «in a constant search for perspective views and bold combinations». Color plays a fundamental role here in defining the common thread that links the different environments: a more lively palette characterizes the living areas such as the living area, the kitchen and the entrance, while the main bedroom is enriched with more enveloping shades , like the midnight blue of the walls and the putty on the ceiling. Furthermore, the materials have been carefully selected here to create a welcoming atmosphere: a dark stained oak parquet with Hungarian herringbone laying for the floor, which softens the chromatic tones and decorations on the walls; a slightly bushhammered Alpi gray stone for the kitchen; linen fabrics for sofas, curtains and beds, which play with light in fascinating light-dark effects.
