A house with a swimming pool with elegant tones and bucolic atmospheres

The dreamlike garden and the Roman travertine hanging pool are the characterizing elements of this apartment in the streets of Naples. The renovation project is coordinated by Primo Atelier which overturns the canonical perception of flows and thresholds within the domestic space. Closing your eyes it almost seems like you are in another era, inside one fluid space, not limited, among the greenery of a less chaotic neighborhood of the Neapolitan city which gives a feeling of holiday. «The apartment project proposes a radical vision of living: a single open space without divisions, doors and walls» he tells us Alessandro Schetter who coordinated the creative direction of this project without forgetting the strong relationship with the outside world.

The dining room comes into contact with the lounge corner and extends towards the green exterior. Light enters supreme and the table, a monolith in Breccia Capraia, is the protagonist of the open space. The matching chairs are iconic Capitol of Cassina. The ceiling track is the Track system of Viabizzuno.

Fluid spaces without doors

Intuitive and irreverent, this is how we could classify the gamble that First Atelier proposes by refusing the use of doors. The architects treat the environments as if they were hollow volumes that allow entry inside them. «In the apartment it is possible to move freely, enter and exit these volumes without encountering any obstacles, thus experiencing a life without filters» regarding the division between environments with different functions. And so «the only real elements responsible for separating spaces are i sliding panels retractable which can close and isolate private areas if necessary”. This intuition arises from the need to underline the sense of freedom inside this house with swimming pool by pushing the gaze towards the garden outside. The perimeter walls are also transparent and, thanks to a system of sliding doors, allow the almost total opening of this internal space onto the outside. The mind flies to one of the five points of Le Corbusier’s architecture: the free plant.
