At that point Magdalena and Jonathan realized that their new home could not ignore the changes in mood and the seasons. It had to take into consideration the void, rediscover beauty and conceal the stillness in imperfection, modifying the existing without haste and tuning into the rhythms of nature: all this allowed the owners to see familiar things in a new, original and evocative light : «The more time we spent in that paradise, the more I felt at ease, more and more inspired in contact with the uniqueness of that space», says Magdalena. «In my design work I am very focused on perfection and having the physical and mental space to concentrate and experiment has been interesting and fun».

Contemplate and create a stone’s throw from the ocean

Year after year, Magdalena and Jonathan have created a space that embodies Magdalena’s minimalist aesthetic in a more informal and relaxed style, also thanks to the surrounding marine environment. A place to rest, recharge, meet friends, contemplate and create. A timeless refuge that pulsates to the rhythm of the tides, with furnishings, works of art and objects that are continually rethought and reorganized. More than just a home, this house on Long Island is an inspiring work-in-progress, a work of art awaiting the final stroke of the brush.
