Who is

Timur Ivanov was born on August 19, 1975 in Moscow. Raised in a wealthy family, his father Vadim Gennadyevich has been general director of Crystal Development LLC since 2004, while his mother is of Lezgian origin. In 1997 Timur Ivanov graduated from the Moscow Faculty of Mathematics and later worked in commercial organizations, becoming a great entrepreneur.

He appoints her deputy minister

On May 23, 2016, Timur Ivanov was appointed Deputy Defense Minister and officially took office on November 11, replacing Dyumin. Until the outbreak of the pandemic he played minor roles, with Covid he took care of the organization of facilities for patients suffering from Covid-19.

The arrest

Tuesday 23 April in a note from thecourt press office Basmannyj of Moscow, at the request of the investigative authorities, decided to carry out a preventive measure, of Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Timur Vadimovich Ivanov, in the form of detention for a period of two months, until June 23, 2024. Timur Ivanov was accused of receiving a bribe together with Sergei Borodin, previously arrested. Second the independent Russian media ‘iStories’ which quotes two sources close to the FSB: «The motivation for the bribe is for the public. So far they don’t want to talk publicly about betrayal: it’s a big scandal. No one would have arrested him for corruption. Everyone there had known this for a long time. Putin gave the order after becoming convinced that it was indeed treason».

Private life

Deputy Minister Timur Ivanov had two marriages: the first with a woman with whom he had two daughters, Darya born in 2010 and Praskovnya born in 2018. The second marriage con Svetlana Zakharova Maniovich, entrepreneur and owner of the Metropol Fashion Group, marriage ended in June 2022 a few months after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
