Manila Esposito Vesuvian pride: it’s gold at the European championships

Manila Esposito, the young seventeen-year-old gymnast from Torre Annunziata, made history by becoming the new European champion in the All-Around artistic gymnastics. Her extraordinary performance caught the attention of everyone present during the European Championship in Rimini. Belonging to the Fiamme Oro Sports Group of the State Police and coached by Enrico Casella at Brixia, Esposito spoke about her and her team’s recent progress. She expressed her satisfaction with the improvement compared to the previous year and underlined the importance of the experience accumulated thanks to participation in numerous competitions in the last year.

Manila dedicated her victory to her family, grandparents and everyone who supported her along the way. She told how she started practicing gymnastics from a young age, driven by her natural energy and the desire to surpass herself. Her determination and perseverance have led her to achieve great results over the years. The gymnast highlighted her strong bond with her team and the importance of having a supportive environment and mutual support. Her move to Brescia allowed her to find a new united group, which supports each other even in moments of difficulty, such as the one experienced during the European championship.

Despite the joy of Esposito’s victory and the silver won by the other Italian Alice D’Amato, the day was marked by Asia D’Amato’s knee injury.
