Two citizens GermanRussians were arrested on Wednesday morning in Bayreuthin Bavaria, by special police forces. According to Federal Attorney General Jens Rommel, who ordered the arrests, it is two Russian spies that they were planning sabotage operations in Germany on behalf of the Moscow secret services. The main accused is the 39 years old German-Russian Dieter S., originally from Bavaria. The federal prosecutor accuses him, among other things, of being a secret service agent for the purpose of sabotage and of “representing” military structures in a way that endangers security.

As reported Der SpiegelGerman investigators are convinced that Dieter S. exchanged ideas with Russian intelligence contacts about sabotage operations in Germany fromOctober 2023. He is said to have agreed to carry out arson attacks and explosives against military infrastructureweapons factories and sites industrial.
