We all still have before our eyes the terrible images of the fires that occurred on the beautiful island of Rhodes, Greece, in July last year. A real disaster which forced the authorities to evacuate the tourists present on what we all know as a real corner of paradise. However, the Greek Ministry of Tourism has announced some great news: a provision has been approved thanks to which those who found themselves in this situation last year can take a free holiday on the island. His name is Rodos Pass and now we will discover together how it works.

Rodos Pass: to take free holidays in Rhodes

The Ministry of Tourism of Greece has made available, exclusively for those who were evacuated following the fires that occurred on the island of Rhodes in July 2023, twenty-five thousand electronic vouchers to be able to take a free holiday in this corner of the world where, many years ago, the famous bronze statue of the Colossus soared into the skies, considered one of the seven wonders of the world.

It is called Rodos Pass and it is a measure – with a total value of 4 million euros – which provides that vouchers will be distributed to tourists to travel for free in these parts, but under two particular conditions:

• can only be used in low season;
• it is addressed exclusively to those who stayed in hotels and not in Airbnb.

If you were on holiday in Rhodes last year but were evacuated from the island, it is therefore your right to be able to obtain a voucher worth 300 eurosfor a stay in a double room in a three-star hotel, and of 500 Euros in a five-star one. Available holiday dates are up to May 31st or in the fall, between October 1st and November 15th.

It is possible to apply as early as April 10th and the Rodos Pass is aimed at citizens of all nationalities who stayed in hotels evacuated during the forest fires in Rhodes in July 2023. Just search for the platform online Rodos Weekcreated by the Ministry, and apply to obtain a bonus for seven consecutive days (and six nights) in a hotel of the same category and in a room type equivalent to the one in which you stayed during the terrible events of last July.

One of the reasons why it is worth choosing Rhodes for your holidays is that it is one of the easiest to reach from our country: it has an international airport served by numerous low cost (and non-low cost) flights to/from Italy. But this is certainly not the only reason.

This Greek island, in fact, is a concentration of historical and natural wonders, and where it is possible to experience the true spirit and profound Hellenic culture to the fullest.

We are therefore talking about a small paradise that floats among the clear waters of the Aegean Sea and that it manages to be charming all year round. Indeed, it is probably even more so in the low season, because the climate is still summer but there are fewer tourists.
