One of the biggest exchange of cryptocurrencies in the history of crypto token markets is without any doubt FTXthe well-known trading platform has however recently suffered a sensational collapse to say the least which led to the clear disappearance of 8 billion dollars from the pockets of users, triggering a maxi trial against all those involved as happened.

Among these we also have the co-founder of the trading platform who has been sent to trial and now he received a truly gigantic sentencethe king of cryptocurrencies has in fact received a sentence of well 25 years in prison for what happened with the platform.

Seven different charges

The judge sentenced the co-founder of FTX on seven different charges and to 300 months in prison in the formula 240 + 60 to be served consecutively.

Obviously the sentence does not only concern the 8 billion dollars evaporated but also the behavior of the co-founder of the platform who intervened in the investigation by making false statements regarding the time within which he became aware of the monstrous loss of FTX.

Initially the prosecution had opted for a sentence of between 40 and fifty years in prison, while the defense had requested around 6 and a half less than those actually inflicted on the co-founder, the maximum sentence is 110 years but the judge and jury found this punishment excessive to inflict.

This is the largest collapse currently in the history of cryptocurrency trading and will likely never see another platform reach a similar negative milestone, the co-founder of FTX has currently been in prison since August 11 last year for violating the terms of his bail, he is now apparently unlikely to be released from prison for the next few years.
