Rome, 28 March 2024 – A network organized by Russia allegedly tried to influence the EU Parliament elections in several European countries. He revealed it the Security information service (Encore) of Prague quoted by the newspaper Denik N. Some “European politicians who collaborated with the pro-Russian site ‘voice-of-europe.eu’” they would have been “paid with Russian fundswho in some cases also covered their electoral campaign for European Championships 2024”, we read in the newspaper. “The payments concerned politicians from Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands and Poland”, highlights Denik N, citing a source from the Czech Foreign Ministry. The Security information service writes on investigation into espionage by the Russian Federation. The Kremlin’s objective would have been to “weaken Poland’s position on the international scene, discredit Ukraine And the image of the European authorities”. “In this context, international cooperation is absolutely crucial,” concluded the director of Bis, Michal Koudelka.
Not by chance, the Polish counterintelligence operation (ABW) takes place in coordination with the services of other countries: “The ABW is acting as part of an investigation into espionage activities conducted in the name of Russia against states and institutions of the European Union”, Jacek Dobrzynski, spokesperson for the Polish special services, wrote on X.

Yesterday the Polish Ministry of Defense announced that it had recalled to the country the Polish commander of the Eurocorps Single General Staff, following a military counterintelligence investigation. In a statement, the ministry said military intelligence had opened an investigation “regarding the General Jaroslaw Gromadzinski’s personal security clearance” adding that he ordered his “immediate” return to Poland.
