Mediaset, twist: “What Piersilvio decided about Bianca Berlinguer”

Mediaset prepares the schedules for the next television season, meanwhile Piersilvio Berlusconi’s decision on Bianca Berlinguer arrives.

What is the outcome of Bianca Berlinguer’s first season at Mediaset? The presenter and journalist, after years spent in the public company, decided last season to accept Piersilvio Berlusconi’s offer, bringing all her staff to Rete4 and inaugurating It’s always Cartabianca.

As promised by Berlinguer herself at the beginning of last season, the format of the political and current affairs broadcast has not changed format, maintaining its journalism standards high. This is why Mediaset has made an important decision.

Mediaset’s decision on Bianca Berlinguer

Since last January, Mediaset has decided to entrust the prime time access of Rete4 to Berlinguer and his Before tomorrow. The results rewarded the choice of the Cologno Monzese leaders, so much so that the Roman journalist’s talk will continue for another week. The closure of Before tomorrow, in fact, it was scheduled for June 14th, but it will last another week, arriving until Friday 21 June, when it will pass the baton to a new current affairs program hosted by Roberto Poletti and Francesca Barra.

Behind Mediaset’s choice are the excellent results in terms of share of the programme, achieved also thanks to a series of circumstances, such as the presence of the European elections and the simultaneous end of the two most popular programs of that time slot, namely Your business on Rai Uno e Strip the News on Channel 5. The decision would also seem to put an end to the rumors about a sensational farewell at the end of the Berlinguer season.

In fact, there has been talk of a return of the journalist to Rai Tre, news which, however, at the moment has not been confirmed either by Mediaset or by the public company. Bianca Berlinguer should, barring sensational twists, resume its place on Rete4 as early as next September. Not only that: according to some rumours, Berlinguer could also be transferred to the Mediaset flagship network, due to the move of Myrta Merlino to Rete4.

The former presenter of Afternoon Five according to this hypothesis, he would host a current affairs and political program on Rete4 – very similar to his La7 show The Air that blows – while Simona Branchetti would arrive in her place. Berlinguer, therefore, could have his own program on Canale 5, probably in the late evening, a space that has been missing for a few seasons when Matrix with Enrico Mentana was broadcast.
