The rapper presents his first EP to FqMagazine which bears his name and takes stock of his work in school, where he also found love

After exiting the Final of “Friends of Maria De Filippi”, Petit he has toured and continues to tour Italy far and wide for the instore tour. The occasion is the launch of his first EP entitled “Petit”, which collects the songs published in recent months, plus two unreleased tracks “Brooklyn” and “Hurt Me”. The songs reflect the French and Neapolitan origins of the singer-songwriter.

Salvatore Moccia, Sasà, this is Petit’s real name and surname, was born in 2005 to a mother of French origins and a Neapolitan father. He started writing songs at 13. Last July he released his first single “Taki Taki” and enters the school of Maria De Filippi. A long and demanding experience that led him to the Grand Final and to finding great love in Marisol.

How it changed you Friends and what have you discovered about yourself?
It was a beautiful journey that shaped me little by little, day after day, to be ready today. It’s a school that provides you with a lot of background in music and everything. It helped me to be on stage, vocally and also to write, because I wrote a lot in school. One thing that made me discover is Neapolitan because it has always made me, however at ‘Amici’ I started writing a lot in Neapolitan because I understood that it frees me and I feel good when I write and sing in Neapolitan.

What does Sasà have in common with Petit?
I think they are the same person… Petit is just a stage name that relates to my French origins.

You met Marisol, your ad experience Friends Without her would it have been the same? And if not why, how did you complete each other?
Everything in life happens for a reason. I don’t know if without Marisol it would have been better or worse. We helped each other and in the most down moments I helped her and vice versa. Experiencing this relationship helped me a lot in my writing. I talk a lot about love and what I’m experiencing in my EP.

What was the best compliment you received during instores?
Everyone who tells me that, thanks to my music, they feel understood and represented.

QWhat track on the album are you most attached to? And why?
I couldn’t choose a track. For example, ‘Tornerai’ is a melancholic and emotional track, then there is ‘Mammamì’ which has upbeat and summery vibes. I am linked to both in a different way, but they represent two important moments that I experienced.

Are you already thinking about the next album?
I’m writing a lot because I’m going through a lot right now. Yes, I’m already thinking about it.
