In the seventh episode of the Evening of Amici di Maria De Filippi we witnessed an impressive series of controversies – enough of that, thanks – and an excellent elimination. Two singers made it to the final ballot for elimination: Martina and Mida. It was Martina who had to abandon the talent show hosted by Maria De Filippi, who saw her dream shattered just one step away from the semi-final. Here are the report cards for the episode of Amici on Saturday 4 May.
Alessandra Celentano-Rudy Zerbi: vote Well done. Not for the ignoble nonsense – and I really mean nonsense – that they stage at every episode of the program and which don’t even make my cat laugh (I got the wrong example, in fact: my cat never laughs), but because they managed to make a clear path to the semi-final: no competitor from their team was eliminated. Having an entire team in the semifinals, and certainly the winner of the circuit dancing in your lineup, is not for everyone. Well done. Without controversy they would also be pleasant, so they are just good.
Holden: Fly down vote, uncle. He can’t prepare the gauntlets because he has other things to do. And in fact for this very reason he should leave the program and continue doing something else. To use autotune, for example. Which he always does in an unbearably abundant way. But he is an artist, his companions say. The same teammates who are treated differently than him. But he is an artist. About autotune. Who knows if one day he will start singing. It would be nice news.
Midas: Origami vote. He risks remaining closed in on himself and in the role of “Latin standard bearer” that has been tailor-made for him. Reggaeton can be good to pair with songs in Italian, perhaps with less autotune. Because he certainly doesn’t lack stage presence, rather than trying at all costs to place him on the record market, we should give him the opportunity to grow and work. Otherwise he risks remaining a ‘Rossofuoco’ meteor and then little or nothing. And it would be a real shame, because he has no shortage of potential. I make an appeal: everything but De Gregori not. Don’t let him ruin Francesco De Gregori with autotune too.
Petit: I vote What a boring beard, what a boring beard. Always the same. Not a new emotion, nothing different or unexpected on stage, not a jolt. Flat.
Sarah: I vote Yes fly. Now that she is starting to understand that she is a real talent and she is gaining more and more confidence on stage, no one can stop her anymore. She deserves a place in the final with Petit, Dustin and Marisol. And, after Martina’s ignoble elimination, she can only win the singing circuit. She has to win.
Marisol: I vote Oh well bye. In the sense that we meet again directly to give her the category cup, the Amici general victory cup and a series of work contracts that will make her shine all over the world. Because it is right that this girl, who is only 18 years old, is grit, talent, technique, expressiveness, joy: she is light. And let’s make her shine, come on.
Dustin: vote Are you crazy to send him to the ballot? You shouldn’t even entertain the idea of being able to get him out of the talent show before the final. It would be a sacrilege to which we would have to respond with bows, arrows and pitchforks. He deserves to win everything. After Marisol, it must be said.
Martina: vote Misunderstood. Together with Sarah, she is the only truly beautiful voice on this program and in fact the three judges think it best to eliminate her one step away from the final. That they haven’t understood the value of her talent is evident. Sin.
