From whatever perspective you look at it, Yuji he has now emerged as Sukuna’s natural nemesis. And exactly him spoilers just emerged on Jujutsu Kaisen 258 they seem to dispel any doubts in this regard, to the point that the chapter will shed light on the evolutions of which the protagonist has been subject up to this moment, engaged in a battle from which the future fate of humanity will pass.
If the truth regarding the location of Sukuna’s last finger presented by Jujutsu Kaisen 257 has already in itself confirmed the “atavistic” nature of the relationship that ties the sorcerer to the villain, the upcoming chapter will bring the confrontation (physical and spiritual) between the two to an even more radical level. According to the leakin fact, the new issue of the manga is spread between past and present, with the fight between the two characters being progressively interspersed to flashbacks about Yuji, during which we see the effects – and consequences – of his strenuous training. Before moving on to Itadori’s memories, however, Gege Akutami shows us the continuation of the meeting, with the sequence of Black Lightning observed during the previous chapter which now reveals its real purpose. In Yuji’s eyes, in fact, this technique was not functional in breaking down the villain’s defenses, but to trigger Megumi’s awakeningwhose consciousness is still buried within Sukuna’s body, and on whom chapter 258 sheds no further light.
At this point the mangaka cuts to Yuji’s flashbacks, in which we see the sorcerer training with Choso in order to understand the best and most immediate strategy to channel it into his body Reverse Cursed Technique. According to his “brotherly” companion, Itadori’s physical structure allows the protagonist to produce a unprecedented amount of evil energy, over which, however, the sorcerer does not yet have full control. For this reason Yuji asks his colleagues to teach him to metabolize these skills, with the chapter that at this point cuts to the training between the protagonist and Kusakabe, from which the hero may have drawn the dictates for eviscerate all its latent potential.
Without any solution of continuity, the narrative passes to the present time, where Itadori finally proves his Domination, despite the technique appears decidedly incomplete, especially when compared to the one Sukuna is about to delve into. It is here, in fact, that the villain activates theExpansion of his Domainwhose duration – as certified by the words of Itadori himself – has an extension of about 99 seconds. And although the sorcerers decide here to wait for the antagonist’s technique to lose traction with the passage of time, the King of Curses does not waste even a moment to subvert the inertia of the encounter, to the point that at the end of the chapter he will arrive at cleanly cut off Itadori’s legthanks to the use of Fuuga, or rather those burning flames with which Sukuna previously neutralized Jogo (and which we have included in the list of the four most dazzling sequences of Jujutsu Kaisen 2).
But to wait for confirmation – and above all a continuation – of these events, we will have to wait at least a couple of weekssince between the release of chapter 258 and 259 of the manga there will be a weekly interruption, to be traced back to the beginning of the so-called Golden Week.
