Porcari fire today 12 March 2023 at the Essity paper mill in Porcari, in the plain of Lucca. Vast flames broke out in the afternoon.
This was announced by the mayor Leonardo Fornaciari, who followed the extinguishing operations. The fire attacked the finished product warehouse.
The Fire Brigade intervened on the spot with six tankers and their crews. The Carabinieri were also present.
The column of smoke that rose from the plant was visible even from miles away. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The mayor of Porcari, through his profile Leonardo Fornaciari Mayor, has affixed in a note via Facebook, an ordinance just signed in which he invites “not to come to see the fire because the vehicles of the fire brigade are having difficulty transit to enter the plant, and to keep doors and windows closed and not to engage in outdoor activities”.
Here’s what he wrote:
“Warning that a fire is underway at the Essity paper mill in via Bernardini.
The flames attacked the finished product warehouse.
On site 7 tankers with related crews of the Fire Brigade.
I’m inside the plant and I’m following the operations.
