Emanuela Orlandi and the Garramon case. Josè’s mother: “My son is a victim of the Condor Plan”

It is one of the yellows connected to the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi. A tragedy set in the pine forest of Castel Fusano, a few months after the disappearance of the “girl with the band”. It was 7 pm on 20 December 1983, when Josè Garramon, 12 years old, Uruguayan national, son of a United Nations official (who died last July), was run over and killed by a Ford Transit van, in the pine forest between Rome and the sea. The man behind the wheel, Marco Accetti, will never explain why he was there. Thirty years later, the day after the election of Pope Francis (2013), he accused himself of having participated in the Orlandi kidnapping (here the complete reconstruction). And now, for the first time, the mother of that beautiful babyMaria Laura Bulanti in Garramon, sheds a beacon of unprecedented light on the story and, consequently, on the connected yellows.
Say, ma’am.
«The truth is that they asked this Marco Accetti to scare us, but the situation, like a perfect idiot that he is, got out of hand. When I think about how it ended, with my son’s death, I get angry… I will never resign myself…» These are heavy words. As never done with such clarity in the past, the family to explain the tragedy indicates the political traillinked to the tensions triggered by the Latin American regimes of the seventies, in addition (or as an alternative) to that sexual (the solicitation of minors by the investor, 28 years old at the time).
Ma’am, please explain. By whom would Marco Accetti, the man who caused the death of Josè, be hired?
«A premise must be made. 1983 was a terrible time in our country, Uruguay. There was the Condor plan, the alliance of the secret police forces of the South American regimes against their opponents. My husband Carlos and I were staunchly democrats, we denounced crimes, we sided with the persecuted victims, the disappeared… »
So what, lady?
“They asked this Accetti to scare us but, as expected, since he was a real idiot and depraved at the same time, instead of just scaring us things got out of hand. And he ended up killing my baby. Because Jose was extremely intelligent and when he saw the danger he ran away ».
You say «they asked» Marco Accetti… Who are you referring to in particular?
«At P2, which was the star of horror. To the Ortolani family, to Licio Gelli … Accetti was a moron in the hands of his father, who was a member of Freemasonry, and of his friends. My husband was a promising young man in his career (Carlos worked in Rome at Ifad, the UN agency for agricultural projects, ed) and was very sensitive, committed against injustices. We had moved to Italy in the 80s, but we kept in touch with our country. We were clearly on the left, against dictators. This is the explanation. I’ve always had a suspicion that the P2 has played an important role and that you Accept was used as a pawn”
The lady stops here. “My hope is always to get to the truth. There are many details to be explored which I would like to talk about at length», he concludes.

They are statements in some ways shocking, which outline a new scenario, based on elements of confirmation. Beyond the never proven hypothesis of a sexual assault by Accetti, in fact, the end of the twelve-year-old Uruguayan has always remained obscure. First point: it has not been clarified how Jose had ended up in the pine forest. That afternoon of December 20, 1983, less than an hour before, the little boy was in Eur, at the barbershop. Was it the man who ran over him (and 30 years later handed over the flute recognized by the Orlandis as Emanuela’s) who loaded him up with an excuse and took him to Castel Fusano, twenty kilometers further down, towards the sea? The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office, despite having finally acquitted Accetti in the Orlandi case, has always been convinced of this. Second question: why? The mother of the very young victim now, for the first time, expressly speaks of a possible one retaliatory action addressed to her husband and to her “to frighten us”. Another objective datum is represented by the fact that Marco Accetti’s father, Aldo, was actually a Freemason, enrolled in the Mediterranean lodge. Did the promoters of Operation Condor, the secret coordination between the intelligence of the military dictatorships of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, have “banks” in Rome and among these also Accetti senior?

Carlos Garramon, moreover, in the trial in the Court of Assizes appeared as a civil party, supporting the initial hypothesis of willful homicide (later reclassified as negligent, aggravated by the omission of aid), nor should it be underestimated what Maria Laura Bulanti told a few years ago in front of Rai television cameras. «In Montevideo we had a house bordering on Licio Gelli’s villa – she said – and it often happened that José would climb over the fence to go and play in the nearby garden, with a friend. Once I saw him come back and I asked him why he did it and he replied: I’m looking for Gelli’s treasure… I got very angry, I told my son not to do it anymore, because it was dangerous».
A really strange “game” for a child: evidently Josè had heard of the notorious lists of the Venerable at home, from his parents who were convinced democrats and enemies of Freemasonry. “It is an episode that I told because it is true – the woman now confirms – we were clearly annoying”. In short, there is no shortage of clues that reinforce the new scenario. And even the convinced solidarity of Pope Francis with Mrs. Garramon, whom I have already met twice in private audiences, could acquire further significance in the light of the news that has emerged.
