I-GO 2022-2023 it is a city car 3.38 meters long and equipped with five doors. The novelty to report is the landing in Italy of the Mullen brand, as well as in other European countries. The automaker describes the I-GO as a light utility vehicle for city deliveries. So let’s see the details of this novelty:

Real city car features for Mullen I-GO 2022-2023

Specializing in the production of electric cars, the American manufacturer Mullen is diversifying its range of models. Late last month it unveiled the Mullen I-GO, a small car approved for sale in the European Union. At present, therefore, there are few affordable, light-weight electric vehicles for messengers in the city, apart from the electric cargo bikes which are becoming increasingly popular at high speeds.

Mullen I-GO has a 46 HP electric motor capable of reaching a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The I-GO has batteries with a capacity of only 16.5 kWh, enough to declare a maximum range of 200 kilometers according to the NEDC cycle, known to be less realistic than the WLTP which is authentic in Europe. It is therefore necessary to take into account a figure below 150 kilometers according to the WLTP standard.

The I-GO will join the current one Mullen’s range of commercial vehicleswhich includes Class 1 and 2 EV vans. Mullen recently made a majority acquisition of Bollinger Motors, whose portfolio includes Class 3 through Class 6 commercial vehicles. As well as securing exclusive sales, distribution and branding rights for I-GO for Europe, the Company entered into an asset purchase agreement to acquire all of the assets of Electric Last Mile Solutions, Inc. and Electric Last Mile, Inc. from ELMS Bankruptcy Estates.

Mullen I-GO 2022-2023 to conquer Italy

With a base price around 12,000 euros, this 100% electric city car has all it takes to be desirable. At a time when the Dacia Spring is preparing to exceed 20,000 euros in its basic version, this cost could be a valid reason to be seduced by this new new small car.

As they point out in the presentation, in Europe there is one strong demand for urban delivery vehicles ready for the market. The company has seized the opportunity to extend its brand through partnerships with manufacturers of the I-GO. The Mullen I-GO, intended for companies that focus on final deliveries, is based on a 16.5 kWh battery, rear-wheel drive. The vehicle can easily handle the stop&go and in&out twists typical of narrow European urban roads. The I-Go was built with the intention of getting to the customer’s door faster, all while reducing pollution levels and congestion across Europe.

The I-GO is thus positioned on the last mile delivery niche, more and more relevant in a logistics of ever smaller dimensions: cargo upstream, trucks or rail transport in between, and the lighter ones to carry the parcels to the customer. Put simply, the I-GO should appeal to the restaurant industry in urban areas, even if it doesn’t appear to have cargo space in the rear.
