We are at the end of this Palio 2024 made a little complicated as always by a thousand difficulties. We witnessed a truly important presence of visitors in Leonessa, of which the local commercial activities should be satisfied and recognize the prize as an important moment for the country’s economy. The organizational machine, as usual, successfully managed to resolve the many problems that can arise in an event like this. Above all, the Palio organization made it without any accidents and in a peaceful atmosphere. The visitor was offered what Leonessa can express in terms of culture, history and tradition as well as entertainment and entertainment. To the sixth of Forcamelone who won, I hope that this victory will serve to reinvigorate passion and participation. It should be underlined that everything was possible thanks to an effective collaboration between various internal and external synergies of the Palio Institution.
The objective that we have now tried to pursue, the president of the Palio Institution Silvana Pasquali tells us, is to combine protocol, ceremonial, tradition with experimentation, planning, novelty, always seeking the involvement especially of young people, an essential tool for the memory of our traditions, but also an instrument of change and innovation. This year too, we did many activities. The banner of the palio was chosen following a competition for artists and the originals were exhibited in the cloister of San Francesco. We have restored the refreshment points as per tradition, for which my thanks go to all the valid collaborators of the sixth who participated and fed plethora of people. Thanks go to behind the scenes, not limited to the three days of the prize but to months of work spent organizing the parades.
Our thanks also go to the Administration who supported us in the thousand requests and in the thousand difficulties, in particular to Antonio Zelli, Gianluca Fossatelli, the Mayor Gianluca GIZZI and the Pro loco for his contribution to disseminating all the events. As well as to the managers of the sixth , to all the members of the Board of Directors, each of whom has tried, compatibly with their commitments, to dedicate part of their free time. A thank you of gratitude to the legendary Lady Giovanna who, despite the many springs, dedicates herself all year round to this wonderful and fascinating prize.
