Tour de France, the day of Turin: sprinters in action, passage to Stupinigi

After two days on the “Roller Coaster”, and on the eve of the first Alpine stage, the 2024 Tour de France arrives in Piedmont. The finish line on Corso Galileo Ferraris in Turin is a nod to the sprinters, who are put to the test by the Florence-Rimini and Cesenatico-Bologna. It will be the longest stage of the 111th edition of the Grande Boucle, 230.8 km between Piacenza and the subalpine capital, which will be reached via the spectacular passage around the Reggia di Stupinigi. Ready to show such beauty to the world and crowd along the roadside between 4.44 pm and 5.16 pm? The Nichelino appointment will precede the finish line by 6.4 km. At that point, the teams of fast men are predictable at work to maintain the leading positions, as they have already done in the 33.5 km of territory of the Turin metropolitan city. First, the Piacenza-Torino will pay homage to the myth of the Campionissimo Fausto Coppi, passing through Tortona and tackling one of the three short climbs (Barbaresco, Sommariva Perno), of the fourth category, which will at least liven up the altimetric profile a bit. Coming from Carignano to Piobesi (Sp 142-Sp 145) the Tour passes between 16.32 and 17.03, then, in very rapid succession, here are Vinovo (Sp 145-Sp 143) and Garino (Sp 143 and municipal roads). The prelude to Stupinigi and Corso Unione Sovietica, climbed up to Corso Lepanto. The final straight will lead to the finish line, located in Corso Galileo Ferraris, at the height of the Inalpi Arena. The caravan is expected on the Carmagnola-Torino stretch between 14.38 and 15.30.
