Bear and Boo loved each other very much. They always played together and couldn’t imagine life without each other. Two cats, two brothers. But then one day that spell was broken: Boo climbed onto the “Rainbow Bridge”. The owner of the two felines, Talia Rycroft, wasn’t sure if Bear had understood that Boo was gone and kept an eye on him to see how he would react.

Boo was buried in the backyard, and a few days later, Rycroft caught Bear doing something both sweet and heartbreaking: the cat had decided to stay on top of his brother’s grave and refused to leave. He was rolling around happily in that spot. He may not have fully understood what had happened to Boo, but he knew he was there in the backyard, and that seemed to be enough for him. “Someone give me the whole box of tissues, I’m so sad,” Rycroft wrote on TikTok (@taliarycroft) where he posted images of the story.

The next day, Rycroft saw Bear at Boo’s grave again, but this time it looked like he was trying to dig her up. The woman didn’t know what to do, but some people commented on the video with a loving twist: “She’s playing with him,” one user wrote, while another added that it was “one last play, I think, like the other cat was saying his last goodbye.”

Luckily, despite these touching scenes, Bear doesn’t seem to be struggling in any way. He’s just grieving in the best way he knows how. He likes knowing that his brother is there, always watching over him, and there to spend time with him, just in a different way.
