The 39th Rally della Valdinievole e Montalbano had promised many topics and much entertainment, and once the engines were started and the challenges began, the eight special stages disputed confirmed the expectations. The race organized by Laserprom 015 in collaboration with ACI Pistoia and ART Motorsport 2.0, second stage of the ACI Pistoia “Memorial Roberto Misseri” Trophy, was won in a photo finish by Claudio Vona and Simone D’Agostino from Aosta, on a Skoda Fabia R5 Evo signed by Pavel Group, making its debut on the roads of Valdinievole. It was necessary to wait for the verdict of the last special stage, the third lap on the “Larciano”, which would have decreed the second place taken on the field by the locals Luca Artino and Marco Ancillotti by nine tenths, but then went to the Lazio drivers Carmine Tribuzio and Fabiano Cipriani, also on a Skoda. Artino and Ancillotti, who were paired for the first time in the cockpit, lost the second coin for a delay ‘paid’ at the arrival time control, for having found traffic on the transfer stretch, then slipping to third place. A thrilling finale, therefore, which made the Valdinievole race even more exciting, also followed by the public of the big occasions. Endless emotions also in the two-wheel drive, with the affirmation in the finale of Paolo Moricci and Paolo Garavaldi, who therefore granted the encore after the victory of 2023.

The first timed race in the morning was won by Vona ahead of Segantini from Arezzo, then the leadership went to Tribuzio from Cassino, only to be overtaken again by Vona, who managed to hold the lead until two races from the end. the classic ball, chased by Artino, who then managed to overtake him during the penultimate. At that point, having reached the threshold of the last test in Larciano divided by just five tenths, there was the classic coup from Vona, who went on to achieve a significant result, above all because he didn’t know the roads he took. addressed. At the foot of the podium, in fourth position were the Pistoia brothers Davide and Andrea Giordano, also with a Fabia, with which they excelled in the special ‘over 55’ ranking; fifth was the aforementioned Segantini (also Skoda), also competing for the first time in Larciano, flanked by Castiglioni, who paid for an unfortunate tire choice throughout the day.

The race among the two-wheel drive cars was also very tight and full of technical ideas. For seven of the eight races disputed, Emanuele Danesi from Marliano had strongly led, flanked by Sarti in the Peugeot 208 Rally4, with the ever-convincing Paolo Moricci, with Garavaldi, in a Clio Rally4, always close behind. Then, during the last appointment with the stopwatch, a puncture made him drop back to third, overtaken also by Andrea Simonetti from Lucca, making his debut with the Renault Clio S1600 shared with Demari. These three crews also finished with great merit in the last three places of the top ten overall. Also impressive was the debut of the very young Noemi Artino, Luca’s sister, first in the under 25s and second in the women’s standings at the wheel of a Renault Clio Rally5. Flanked by the expert Leonardo Matteoni, the girl from Lamporecchio earned open applause, with a performance defined by the experts as the best ever of the competition, considering all the unknowns of the case.

This is the absolute top five. 1) Vona-D’Agostino (Skoda Fabia) in 35’24.3; 2) Tribuzio-Cipriani (Skoda Fabia) at 9.7; 3) Artino-Ancillotti (Skoda Fabia) at 10.9; 4) Giordano-Giordano (Skoda Fabia) at 14.7; 5) Segantini-Castiglioni (Skoda Fabia) at 28.1.
