Two gold medals, both for Porta Solestà, and one bronze, won by Porta Tufilla. The Ascoli ‘mission’ at the Giochi Giovanili della Bandiera, which took place over the weekend in Venaria Reale, near Turin, was more than positive. Excellent performances, in fact, were offered by the baby flag-wavers and baby musicians from Piceno, who brought high not only the name of their respective districts but also that of the Quintana. Porta Solestà, as mentioned, climbed to the top step of the podium twice. It did so first of all with the ‘Musici Giovanili’, who thrashed the competition, dominating over all the others and proving that they have no equals at a national level. For the yellow-blue clarions and drummers, moreover, the demonstration of the fact that the Solestà is a school in continuous growth, given that even the older musicians have collected gold in every edition of the Tenzone Aurea. Porta Solestà also won in the ‘Youth Singles’ thanks to the extraordinary performance of Francesco Ranalli, son of the historic flag-waver Manuel. The little boy, only ten years old, in fact achieved his third personal triumph in a row, after Ascoli 2023 and Asti 2022. In the ‘Rookie Singles’, then, third place and bronze medal for Nicolò Silvestri of Porta Tufilla, who took great satisfaction by showing, if there was any need, the excellent progress made in recent years by the red and black sestiere. Finally, a pinch of regret for Porta Maggiore: the black and greens in fact came close to the medal, finishing fourth among the ‘Musici Under 15’. Even in this case, however, since it was a national competition, it was a result worthy of applause.
