The internet tsunami that especially in the last decade has upset the economy, personal relationships, the vision of reality in times and places that are rapid and changeable like never before, also requires accurate information. And in dispay window there’s news that actually deserves attention. Because if it is true that today everything is hot, the news evaluation thermometer has “burst” from the pressures of technological progress, i.e. sudden views and “likes” without taking into account the quality of what is newsworthy. That is, of the profound truth (which must always be ascertained), of the mechanisms of the outcry that lead to “stoning” or acquittal, so that the human profile, the consequent repercussions of the disclosure of the news on the lives of the protagonists, end up in the reflections of a journalism of others times. A sad suicide until a few decades ago was “dealt with” with a ten-line news item in the short news list, with just the initials of the poor unfortunate person. On social media as in the press, even today these crime news stories open with great prominence, photos and details of shuddering hypotheses, as if everything made logical sense. Despair and recklessness do not outline the sad chronicle of the human drama, but the post like the “news” must only satisfy the user’s need for maximum curiosity.
But the dispay window it also recalls the ancient flavor of values from times gone by. Those of the showcases that kept valuable objects in the family living rooms, even those hard-earned at the cost of many sacrifices, proudly displayed to underline memorable meeting opportunities.
The dispay window wants to put things in their place. The beautiful things first, without neglecting the comparison and the constructive proposal of journalism that promotes a new humanism made of modern technologies but anchored to the values that take you far, that do not die after the exhaustion of the count of “likes” and the sensationalism of the first hour.
The dispay window it is also the result of the best objects to admire. Facts to discuss to go beyond the flashes of social media. That something extra that must support the growth of the new generations.
