Special Award “Don Francesco Mottola” ex aequo to the family pediatrician Dr. Uta Bartman (Monte San Biagio – Latina) and to the pediatrician Dr. Salvatore Braghò, Head of the Pediatrics Department of the Hospital of Vibo Valentia. Both have distinguished themselves for having promoted, in the most effective and continuous way, the practice of music in the family from a very early age. The winners were awarded a sculpture made by the Calabrian artist Antonio La Gamba.
The Origins of the Nati per la Musica Award
The National Award “Born for Music” is an award sponsored by the Cantiere Musicale Internazionale of Mileto (Vibo Valentia). And by the program “Born for Music” (promoted by the Child Health Center and the Pediatricians Cultural Association). In collaboration with the Institut Royal Supérieur de Musique et Pédagogie of Namur (Belgium) and the Libellula Afasp association of Catanzaro. With the patronage of the Municipality of Mileto, the Italian Federation of Pediatricians, Calabria section and the National Union of Mental Health Associations.
The goal is to offer recognition to the best project reality, on a national scale. Able to make its own and spread the foundations of the national program “Born for Music”, which promotes good musical practices in the family as a tool for relationships from pregnancy to 6 years.

In assessing the quality of the action, promoted in the territory, the impact of the activities in contexts of educational poverty, social isolation of the family, situations in which the child does not attend pre-school educational agencies and at risk of dropping out was taken into account. Including those linked to conditions of psychophysical disability of minors and/or reference adults. And in all cases of family fragility and the ability of local projects to guarantee, in such contexts, a significant strengthening of the parent/child relationship and concrete support for parenting.
