Among the major interpreters of blues rock in Italy, Zucchero (real name Adelmo Fornaciari) has sold over 60 million records in his career, 8 million of which with the album “Oro, incenso & birra”. In addition to being the first Western artist to have performed at the Kremlin after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Zucchero is also the only Italian artist to have participated in the Woodstock Festival in 1994, in all the events of 46664 for Nelson Mandela of which he is Ambassador and in the Freddie Mercury Tribute in 1992.

Also in 1992, Zucchero and Luciano Pavarotti shared the idea for the Pavarotti & Friends charity gala. The first edition, broadcast live worldwide, kicked off a series of annual charity concerts that continued until 2003. In 1999, he took part in the IMST Festival in Austria, performing in front of 200,000 people, after Bryan Adams and before the Rolling Stones. That same year, he was invited by Bono of U2 to play at the Net Aid charity gala in New York, which was broadcast worldwide. Zucchero also took part in two editions of the Rainforest Fund (1997 and 2019), the charity concert organized by Sting together with his wife Trudie Styler to protect the world’s rainforests and defend the human rights of the indigenous peoples who live there. During his career he has played in 5 continents, 69 countries, 650 cities touching unique destinations such as Oman, Mauritius, Tahiti, New Caledonia, Armenia, New Zealand and many others. In 2004 he performed at the Royal Albert Hall with a memorable event in which he hosted on stage colleagues of great international fame, including Luciano Pavarotti, Eric Clapton, Brian May, Solomon Burke and Dolores O’Riordan. The concert was later released on DVD with the title “Live At The Royal Albert Hall”. In 2007 he was nominated for a Grammy, with Billy Preston and Eric Clapton for Best R&B Traditional Vocal Collaboration. His concert in December 2012 at the Instituto Superior d’Arte in Havana with over 80,000 people was defined as the largest live ever held by a foreign singer in Cuba under embargo.

With over 65,000 people present, in July 2018 he performed in Hyde Park, on the occasion of the British Summer Time in London, alongside international artists such as Eric Clapton, Santana, Steve Winwood. Zucchero, during 2020, together with the biggest international stars participated in the global live streaming “One world: together at home” (in support of the World Health Organization in the fight against Covid-19), he became the spokesperson of a universal message on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of World Earth Day by playing the unreleased “Canta la vita” in front of an empty Colosseum, taken from “Let Your Love Be Known” by Bono, with the Italian lyrics written by Zucchero and featuring Bono. And, again, he sent a message of hope, which went around the world, performing the song “Amore adesso!” in a magical and desolate Piazza San Marco in Venice, an adaptation of the song “No Time For Love Like Now” by Michael Stipe and Aaron Dessner, with Italian lyrics by Zucchero. Furthermore, he released the emotional duet “September” together with Sting, a song included in Zucchero’s album “DOC Deluxe” (double CD containing all the songs from “DOC” and 6 new songs) and in Sting’s album, “Duets”. In May 2021, “Inacustico DOC & More” was released, the first entirely acoustic project of Zucchero’s career, and during the summer of 2021 Zucchero held a series of acoustic concerts, in Italy and abroad, despite the reduced capacities due to Covid-19 restrictions. In November 2021, “Discover” was released, Zucchero’s first cover project which boasts collaborations with Bono, Elisa and Mahmood and the virtual duet with Fabrizio De André.

In December, “SING 2 – Sempre più forte” will be released in theaters, in which Zucchero will test himself in dubbing by lending his voice to the character Clay Calloway. In 2022 and 2023, Zucchero will return live around the world with his “World Wild Tour”, which will stop in Italy – at the Verona Arena – with 14 concerts.

Last June he returned to his Reggio Emilia, “love and roots” for 2 dates at the RCF Arena (Campovolo) that celebrated his 40-year career. His music has spread beyond national borders thanks to numerous collaborations with international artists such as Bryan Adams, Al Green, The Blues Brothers, Solomon Burke, Dolores O’Riordan, Rufus Thomas, Johnny Hallyday, Tony Childs, Sheryl Crow, Tom Jones, Scorpions, Bono, Sting, Jeff Beck, Ray Charles, Billy Preston, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Elvis Costello, Miles Davis, Peter Gabriel, Paul Young, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Mark Knopfler, Brian May, Luciano Pavarotti, Ennio Morricone, Andrea Bocelli, Iggy Pop, Queen, Manà, Alejandro Sanz and many others.
