Another tragedy on the streets of Rome and its province. Along the Tiburtina Valeria, near the crossroads for Roviano, on the outskirts of Rome, two motorcyclists lost their lives in a violent collision.

The Carabinieri and the 118 personnel intervened on the scene and could only confirm the death of the two motorcyclists, so much so that even the intervention of the air rescue was useless.

To allow for the investigations, the road was closed for four hours and reopened around 4pm when the bodies were taken away.

There have already been 79 victims on the roads of Lazio since the beginning of the year. The month of June has already marked the sad record of 18 deaths to date.

The episode has reignited the controversy over the high speed with which caravans of motorcyclists speed along the Tiburtina and Sublacense roads every weekend, aiming for fresh food and restaurants on the border with Abruzzo in a highly trafficked stretch but with only one speed camera at the height of the municipality of Arsoli. The mayors of the area, explains the mayor of Arsoli, have tried for years to ask for a technical table from Anas and the prefecture but nothing has been done.
