Late this morning, a tragic road accident occurred on Provincial Road 161, known as ‘Gildonese’, in the province of Campobasso. A 16-year-old boy lost his life when the Suzuki, driven by his older sister, overturned and violently hit a concrete wall. The young driver, 23, fortunately is not in danger of life.
The young passenger, sitting in the front seat of the Suzuki driven by his sister, could not be saved despite the immediate help of 118, the Carabinieri and the Campobasso Fire Department. The competent magistrate was informed of the incident and operations are currently underway to recover the body. The victim’s family arrived at the scene of the accident to deal with this terrible tragedy.
The 16-year-old was traveling as a passenger on the Suzuki driven by his older sister, currently hospitalized at the Cardarelli hospital in the city, in a state of shock and under medical observation. The family lives in Cercemaggiore, one of the municipalities near Campobasso. At the site of the accident, the Fire Brigade have started recovery operations for the body and the Carabinieri are investigating to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident. The cause of the car overturning, which ended its run against a concrete wall at high speed, remains to be clarified.
