Eleven people from Brianza yesterday received the honors of the Order of Merit of the Republic, the silver medal for civil merit and a pontifical honor of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher from the prefect Patrizia Palmisani.
Marco Gallarino (Lissone) received the honor of Knight, like Pasquale Griesi of Cesano Maderno, Carlotta Maggioni (Bellusco), Carlo Miosi (Varedo), Marta Mondonico (Aicurzio), Angelo Origgi (Albiate), Carlo Piu (Limbiate), Umberto Trope (Seregno), while Maurizio Rota (Agrate Brianza) was appointed Officer. The silver medal for civil merit was awarded to the memory of Carlo Galante (Seveso), while the title of Knight of the Equestrian Order was awarded to Daniele Concavo (Carate Brianza). For Carlo Galante, as his daughter Elsa tells us, it was the family that asked for recognition: the man on 10 July 1976 in Seveso, while on duty at Icmesa, noticed the malfunction of the control system of a reactor, not caring about the toxic smoke entered the explosion zone with breathing apparatus to operate the cooling water equipment, stopping the combustion. “Many did not expect this recognition – underlined the mayor Paolo Pilotto – they acted driven by a sense of duty, passion and desire to improve their city”.

Pasquale Griesi, assistant chief of the State Police, took part in volunteer initiatives during the pandemic, collaborates with the Dynastic Orders, the Fai and the Civil Protection. Carlotta Maggioni is a legal technician of the Energy sector of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, of the Ministry of the Environment. Marta Mondonico is an entrepreneur in the wine sector; while Carlo Miosi, marshal of the Carabinieri of Desio, foiled a robbery, took part in an investigation for the arrest of 12 drug traffickers and contributed to the arrest of the perpetrator of sexual violence on a minor. Angelo Origgi is president of the Associazione Anziani Argento vivo, while Daniele Concavo is a lawyer, professional chess player and general counsel of the FitActive gyms.
