Four years of imprisonment for the Sinapi/Fortino couple, also sentenced for the henchman Likaj. This is the verdict pronounced by the preliminary hearing judge Daniela Vecchiarelli, of the court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, at the end of the trial celebrated with an abbreviated procedure.

In the morning the deputy prosecutor Gerardina Cozzolino, during her indictment, invoked 10 years for Claudio Sinapi, 62 year old owner of a gym, and his wife Annamaria Fortini, 52 years old. Nine years were sought for ‘Albanian henchman’ Renaldo Likaj, aged 26. The position of Gazmir Shahu, 39 years old, has been eliminated.

It all started when the victims bought a house in Piazza Di Rauso in Capua. A house that the Sinapi couple were also interested in. Real harassment began. The victims suffered scratches on the entrance door with sharp objects, gutters blocked with lime to trigger “house floods”, elevators blocked to prevent their use. Not only that. The family lived in a climate of terror made up of intimidation that was also quite serious. “We’ll get rid of you, we’ll kill you, if you don’t leave this building we’ll show you what happens to you”, they allegedly told him. Real threats, even death threats, were made to the head of the family (now deceased) and his relatives.

The victim is approached again, this time by people from “the middle of the street”, who on behalf of Claudio Sinapi would have acted as spokespersons for the purchase proposal. Exasperated, he decides to sell but the offer is too low (about 70 thousand euros). The new refusal is followed by arson raids on cars parked on the street. One occurs in November 2022 when a Fiat 500 owned by the head of the family who was targeted is set on fire, the other in May 2023 when a C3 owned by the victim’s daughter is burned. According to the reconstruction by the Carabinieri of the Capua company, the Sinapi couple – also accused of stalking – allegedly hired the two Albanians for a few thousand euros to carry out the arson raids. Last July of last year, the suspects, following the investigations, were hit by a precautionary measure ordered by the investigating judge Emilio Minio.

The defendants, who have already compensated the injured parties, are defended by the lawyers Giuseppe Stellato, Paolo Di Furia, Anna Orsi, Romolo Vignola. In their discussions, the lawyers have asked for the concession of mitigating circumstances and for Fortino the recognition of minimum participation.
