The Crevennese wins a gold and a silver at the Italian Championships

ERBA – An extraordinary performance by Veronica Poletti ai Italian Under 19 Rowing Championships which were held in Varese on 21 and 22 June. The native of Crevenna, member of the Lario rowers he won two medals, one gold in the 8 man specialty and one silver in the 4 man sculls.
The team formed by Letizia Martorana, Carolina Cassani, Sara Lucia Caterisano, Veronica Poletti, India Del Fante, Gaia Caterisano, Chiara Solano, Angelica Cremonesi and Dafne De Girolamohelmsman of Moltrasio, then took the top step of the podium, finishing in 6:36.74 ahead of the rowing team Roma and Caprera.
A great satisfaction for Veronica Poletti who comments: “In June we had already won the European title in Poland in the women’s 4 specialty and I reconfirmed myself on Lake Varese this time together with Letizia Martorana, Carolina Cassani and Sara Caterisano”.
In the men’s category, the title was achieved in the Under 19 four with the crew composed of Filippo B Ancora, Michele Minazzato, Luca Cassina and Pietro Gozzi and the helmsman Donate Richard (Varese SC), a gold medal confirmed also in the coxless four by three of the protagonists Filippo B Ancora, Michele Minazzato, Luca Cassina, with the addition of Natan Sartor. Also in this case, clear victory and celebrations on the podium in Varese.
The athlete crevenesse despite having started rowing for only two years has already won several awards and aims even higher. In fact, first of all there are further medals to win at the Italian Championships Under 23, Under 17, Esordienti but above all at the Matrix where the entrance to the World Championships will be played.
The international competition is, in fact, close because it will take place from 18 to 25 August in Santa Caterina in Canada. From next year, however, Poletti will participate in the Under 23 women’s competitions given her age and the growth of her technical skills.
