How companies and corporate foundations address the social dimension of sustainability, a crucial aspect of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy: this is the heart of the event organized in recent days in Milan by Fondazione Progetto Arca, on the occasion of its 30 years of activity, entitled “Strategy, investments and social sustainability, dialogues on the impact generated and its measurement”.

Four entities are involved: Fondazione Fiera Milano, JTI Italia, H&M Italia and NOLOOP, which have long supported Progetto Arca in making intervention projects carried out in Italy and around the world possible and concrete in favor of marginalized and people in difficulty.

As stated in a note, Fondazione Progetto Arca is committed in Italy and around the world to giving concrete help to those who find themselves in a state of serious poverty and social exclusion: homeless people, families in economic and housing emergency, people with addiction problems , migrants fleeing wars and poverty. Every day operators and volunteers offer food support, housing, street assistance, accompanying each person in difficulty on a path of personal recovery and social, housing and work reintegration.

In 30 years, Progetto Arca has reached over 435 thousand beneficiaries, of which 88% in Italy; it provided 23,775,000 meals and welcomed 108,010 people, of which 77% completed the process successfully (35% achieved independent living and 42% entered other rehabilitation services). Volunteers have also increased over time: today there are 616 throughout Italy.

“These are high numbers, a source of pride for our foundation, but behind these figures there are people with their life project, and this is what makes the difference. For 30 years we have been dealing with fragility and we have declined our services according to a vision ‘with whom’, and not ‘for whom’, to indicate a path that we must travel together, offering a specific response for each one”, commented Alberto Sinigallia, president of Fondazione Progetto Arca.
