Officially left last night the second mandate of mayor Piergiacomo Bonaventi with the first municipal council characterized by some formal obligations, the oath of the mayor and the formalization of the delegations and the election of the president and vice president of the municipal council.
No surprises regarding the composition of the council he will lead Pandino in the next five years and which had already been announced in recent days. For now, the mayor remains responsible for the delegations to urban planning, environment, security, participation and heritage. As for the group leaders, for the majority reconfirmation for Claudia Cerioli, while for the minority of Let’s join Pandinothe former candidate for mayor Luigi Galimberti. In his initial greeting, Mayor Bonaventi did not hide his emotion despite his twenty-year administrative experience, including provincial assignments, a special company and the role of mayor.
“I begin this new adventure with enthusiasm, aware that the electoral result of a few weeks ago was clear and evident, with the people of Pandino who have reconfirmed their trust in us, after the first five hard years – said the mayor – we are citizens among citizens and our action is characterized towards the only direction which is the good of Pandino and the people of Pandino, focusing on young people and with an ambitious and achievable programme. I will be the mayor of everyone – concluded Bonaventi – and when you see my unusual bike, you know that I am there and my door is open”.
The inaugural session was animated by some skirmishes between majority and minority on the articulation of the delegations, with the requests for clarification by the minority and the failure to participate in the vote for the election of the president of the council by the group led by Galimberti, who had asked in recent days for the vice presidency. With the votes of the majority, Alessandro Mariconti was elected president of the city council and Alessandro Trotta vice.
In the speech of the minority group leader Luigi Galimberti, There was no shortage of good wishes for your workthe thanks to the 1853 voters who supported him, the reference to the respect of the charter of values presented during the electoral campaign, the dialogue, and the will to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the actions undertaken by the administration.
From the outset, however, the attention of Galimberti and the minority was turned to the two critical issues represented by the situation that has arisen in the last few hours in Asm, the Municipal Special Company who also manages the poolwith the resignation of the president Diego Merigo and the councilor Emanuele Marchesi, and within the Pandino Hospital for the Poor Foundation with the resignation of the president Sante Poggioli.
“President Poggioli, who has done well in recent months – said Galimberti – has apparently resigned due to the obstructionist conduct of some members of the Board of Directors with respect to the total renovation of the RSA for 9 million euros, an opportunity not to be missed and which I hope the people of Pandino realize. Before arriving at this – concluded Galimberti – we are certain there were alarm bells that should have led the municipal administration to manage the situation, resolving the problems through dialogue and détente between the parties, actions which, as far as it seems, if carried out, they were not effective”.
The discussion on the programmatic lines will be the subject of the next meeting that will be held in a few weeks, but Mayor Bonaventi is already working to continue what has already been started and to focus attention on the general variant of the Territorial Government Plana fundamental tool for coordinating the country’s future development.
