Accident on the Ardeatina, illness while driving: Danilo Livieri dead

The last call to his wife before the illness: “Love, I don’t feel well.” Then the crash with the van he was driving. The latest victim of the road is a 62-year-old man, Danilo Livieriwho lost his life this morning in Anzio on the Via Ardeatina, ending up off-road in the stretch between Via delle Cinque Miglia and the road that leads to the Litoranea.

The 62-year-old, resident in Ardea, had gone to Lavinio for medical visits at an analysis laboratory. Once the checks were completed, he boarded his van. While he was returning home, however, the man began to feel ill. The 62-year-old had time to call his wife, then lost control of the vehicle. Perhaps in an attempt to avoid other cars, the man tried to pull his vehicle over, but ended up off the road, crashing into a surrounding wall.

Local police officers from Anzio and health workers from 118 intervened on site and tried in vain to resuscitate the 62-year-old, a well-known builder from Ardea. The man, however, died practically shortly after the crash. The body was taken to the Riuniti hospital in Anzio for an autopsy. The 62-year-old is the 78th road fatality between Rome and the province since the beginning of the year.
