A violent attack against one train conductor, on duty on a Trenitalia convoy, happened on June 26th in the Barletta station. The operator was kicked by a passenger, who wanted to board the train even without a travel ticket.
Some railway unions have reported the news who stigmatized the incident and expressed “solidarity and closeness to the workers who are victims of these dramatic episodes which testify to a growing trend”.
First the insults, then the football
The woman would have been first insulted and then kicked in the abdomen, delivered by the passenger who did not want to comply. The train conductor was rescued by the 118 operators and then transferred to the emergency room for treatment. Fortunately, she did not suffer any serious injuries. The attacker was stopped by the police.
The alarm of the trade unions
“The companies of the FS Group involved, the Prefectures and the Puglia Region are invited to intervene for what is within their competence in order to contrast and implement every possible action aimed at eliminating the phenomenon of acts of violence in railway areas and on trains”, is the request of the trade unions.
