Storm in the Gargano, three children stuck in the car and rescued by the firefighters

The three children were rescued by the Fire Brigade: with their grandmother, they had been trapped in their car with the water that had reached the doors of the vehicle.

A violent storm hit a large part of the province of Foggia yesterday and, in particular, in San Severo where serious disruptions were reported. The force of the water completely flooded the ground floor and basements of the houses and many commercial premises, also making some city streets impassable, where the water largely went beyond the pavements.

There were dozens of interventions by the Fire Brigade, with five teams, who also rescued some children who, with their grandmother, had been trapped in their car with the water that had reached the doors of the vehicle.

Possible local cloud cover is expected for today’s morning in Puglia with the possibility of some precipitation in Salento, wider clearings elsewhere with some thinning clouds on the Tyrrhenian side. Minimum temperatures stable or slightly decreasing. In the afternoon mostly sunny weather with some residual clouding easing in Puglia. Maximum temperatures mostly between 27 and 31 degrees. Winds up to moderate Mistral on the lower Adriatic where the sea will be rough. Elsewhere mostly weak winds and slightly rough seas.
