“Receiving this award gives me a lot of happiness because it is the result of a captivating and motivating journey like this year’s in Empoli where together with the boys we did an extraordinary job reaching salvation. And then because the roll of honor includes coaches from international depth and therefore for me it is an honor to see my name linked to theirs”. Davide Nicola was the great protagonist and guest of honor of the 2024 edition of the Golden Timone, the prize that the Aiac section of Arezzo awards every year to the technician who has distinguished himself the most. The awards ceremony took place during the convivial event at the Minerva hotel. Before the evening the Empoli coach, who is about to sit on the Cagliari bench, held a meeting with the Arezzo coaches and then spoke to the press. “Every recognition given to a coach is always unanimous. Anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong, because we alone can’t do anything. We can, it’s true, give ideas, but the main actors are and will always be the players.” Awarded during the evening were the coaches who stood out in the Landi (Aquila Montevarchi) and Peruzzi (SS Arezzo) youth championships, as well as Fabrizio Innocenti from Stia, Fabrizio Bracciali from Tegoleto and Riccardo Franchi from Viciomaggio. And speaking of Tegoleto, Dino Bonci, president and manager among the founders of the red and white club, was remembered during the evening.
